I Knew It All
03:42
|
|||
You got a quick mind
And think on your feet
But you're so confined
You just can't resist
To give a slice
To everyone
You'd better think twice
Before you shoot your gun
You believe you know
Better than anybody else
No, it doesn't come as a surprise
For I have seen some other guys
Who knew it all and thought could understand
Everything but their own phony scam
Once I was a little bit like you
With my close minded point of view
I knew it all
Through the prism
Of your own set ideas
You're imprisoned
And you're so hard to please
Come on get closer
Open up your eyes
Look in the mirror
Get yourself analyzed
You believe you know
Better than anybody else
No, it doesn't come as a surprise
For I have seen some other guys
Who knew it all and thought could understand
Everything but their own phony scam
Once I was a little bit like you
With my close minded point of view
I knew it all

High School Troublemaker
03:28
|
|||
I woke up this morning and I was not feeling so well
And I'll feel even worse when ring the bell
Across the street a high school was swarming with pupils
Dozens of animals that would turn one day into people
I hate these kids as much as I hate their teachers
Enjoying to think themselves as political leaders
In a crusade for silence so they can hear themselves speak
Crushing kids' ideas for fun every day of the week
God please help me to find a way to ruin their day
God please help me to find a way to ruin their day
Let's plug my guitar and open the window
Let's show these creatures the meaning of rock n' roll
I am a high school troublemaker x4
Now my girl is here, things are getting serious
So I take off her threads, I am getting vicious
So pupils, teachers, your attention please,
Cause this is a one time show.
I am a high school troublemaker x4

Emily Vandelay
03:38
|
|||
Emily Vandelay lived by the sea
In a great big old house with her chimpanzee
Her 50's furniture, her American cars
Her vintage whiskey and her Cuban cigars
Always walking around with a long dark cape,
Victorian shirts and Charles the ape
She was quite the catch and a character
With her wide eyes bright and infectious laughter
Wherever she went, she caught all the eyes
With her self confidence and her hollywood smile
But she had never shown how much scared she was
She hid it all behind from dusk till dawn
Dark make up and her frilly clothes
Once she had loved, of a love only once there is
Though it's long gone, she's never been at ease
Since she's been wooed, but also doomed as none would stay
She always got bored, so very sored, sent them away
She believes she is better off by herself with her memories
Emily had read about a million books
She could easily tell wannabees and crooks
She had traveled all the world in planes
Buses, donkeys, boats and trains
Any crowd she could charm and amuse
With her wits and words she knew how to choose
She was quite the catch and a character
With her wide eyes bright and infectious laughter
Wherever she went, she caught all the eyes
With her self confidence and her hollywood smile
But she had never shown how much scared she was
She hid it all behind from dusk till dawn
Dark make up and her frilly clothes

Melody Maker
03:01
|
|||
There's a little place
It's all red and white
The music is always ace
We have fun almost every night
There you'll always find
A friend of some kind
The boss is a real cool cat
And a rock n roll daddy too
It's not really where it's at
That's why we stick to it like glue
We dance and drink like we always do
Papa tells stories and the jukebox too
At the Melody Maker
Walk down the stairs to the room in the back
There is fuzz in the air and the band's in the dark
Then you go outside to catch your breath
Have a beer, a chat and cigarette
We dance and drink like we always do
Papa tells stories and the jukebox too
At the Melody Maker

Haunted House
02:39
|
|||
Have you seen the ghouls
Hanging in the yard?
They are pretty cool
They are glowing in the dark
After working in the crypt all day digging tombs
Their mind just flipped out of drinking the beers of doom
And in the living plays a dead ghost band
Zombies are dancing and clapping in their hands
Frankenstein's the cook
So you'll suffer agonies
From his singing book
Of voodoo recipes
He'll malke the Gumbo cha cha and the Witchy stew
The Jumbatlaya and the Mambo Goo
Welcome to my haunted house
Once you're in you can't get out
But you'll like it here
So welcome to my haunted house
And in the living plays a dead ghost band
Zombies are dancing and clapping in their hands
Bloody Mary'll get you loose
With its warm O negative
What an evil Beetle Juice
Cause you'll never want to leave
Stompin Jivers on the creaky floor
The crypt kickers always play an encore
Welcome to my haunted house
Once you're in you can't get out
But you'll like it here
So welcome to my haunted house

Too Good To Be True
03:11
|
|||
I saw you standing in the shadow all alone
Tappin' your foot on Shirley's Clapping song
You looked at me with how you're doin' eyes
Thirteen seconds I was hypnotized
Oh come on baby, you're too good to be true
And I just can't take my eyes off of you
Oh you're just too good
Too good to be tue
I can not get
my eyes off of you
We danced through the night until the break of day
I couldn't tell who was the hunter and who was the prey
You came on to me and took me by surprise
Your lips were sweat and your kisses were wild
Oh come on baby, you're too good to be true
And I just can't take my eyes off of you
Oh you're just too good
Too good to be tue
I can not get
my eyes off of you

8000 Miles From Home
02:57
|
|||
Spent a year a while back
Hitting the road and the tracks
Getting to know me
In a foreign land
8000 miles from my home
Never felt so alone
How could I not be
My own best friend
If I had to do it all over again
I would go back and do just the same
Spending so much time far from anything you've known
Spending so much time relying on your own
You'd be well advised to live with no safety net
You'd be quite surprised to see what you can get
With my camera around
All the streets of ervry town
I was a reporter
For my own memories
Driving through the desert
The canyons and the dirt
Washed in the river
And dried with the breeze
If I had to do it all over again
I would go back and do just the same

Moon Night
04:30
|
|||
It was a cold winter day when we went to your place on the coast
There was not a soul in town, nor even a ghost
Only the waves crashing on the sand
The house was dark and damp, I loved the smell of must
Like an old book buried in the dust
I'll always remember you in the dark that night
Your shadow in the doorway in the pale moonlight
There were pictures on the wall with you and your folks
The light from my match with a breeze turned into smoke
You took my hand and showed me the way
You threw me on the bed and woke up the springs
I wanted you more than anything
I'll always remember you in the dark that night
Your shadow in the doorway in the pale moonlight

One Last Hit
03:01
|
|||
Mister Charlie Watts was a hit man
Years on the job he never complained
He always did what he was asked to
Sharp as a blade with a three-piece suit
His fine work of art turned into a loot
Cause he's never flinched, not a single time
But one day he went to see the boss
And told him he's had enough
It did not sweep the man off his feet
He only asked for one last hit
Charlie turned his back and told him to get lost
Only one last hit before you go
Then you forget everything that you know
We rule you out and you take your girl
Without a bow to the far side of the world
He went to see his money man
Found an empty safe and the guy dead
He had been tricked, he had to do the hit
For days the case he learned all about
Until he had the job planned inside out
He couldn't miss this very last hit
Walked up the stairs to the second floor
Took off his shoes, then he tricked the door
Slowly he tiptoed to the bed
Silencer on, off to la la land
Then Charlie heard a click and blood started to drip
Only one last hit before you go
Then you forget everything that you know
We rule you out and you take your girl
Without a bow to the far side of the world

Nothing To Do
03:50
|
|||
When everything is lonely late in the night
I put a record on and I turn off the light
Smoking cigarettes, drinking a little wine
It's as good as it gets, nothing is on my mind
This could go on goin' on forever more, forever more
I wanna do nothing
When there's nothing to do
I wanna say nothing
When there's nothing to say
Don't wanna be pretending
No games to play
And I can do it with you
How many times have I stared at the sea
Diving with my eyes as far as i could see
Looking at the ceiling it's already twelve
The sun is coming in through a breech of the curtain
Lying on a bed I wonder daydreaming
My mind is a blank my head is spinning
This could go on goin' on forever more, forever more
I wanna do nothing
When there's nothing to do
I wanna say nothing
When there's nothing to say
Don't wanna be pretending
No games to play
And I can do it with you
